Thanks for the link Norberto. Actually I have been following Kieth's
site for quite a while. I've used the apps mentioned there and all
have their limitations. What I need is an app that links individual
parts to assemblies so that a change to one part will update the
assembly master and all associated part drawings. SolidWorks meets
those needs for me and seeing that I have a valid license, I will
continue to use it, at least until I can get it working under wine.
So far, the only Linux CAD program that meets my needs is
Pro/E-Wildfire. It has been in release for almost a year now. I have
used it as a beta tester, but they didn't see fit to extend my beta
license to the commercial release. It's arguably even better than
SolidWorks, but it's US$ 8,500 price tag is a bit steep for my
fledgling business to absorb at this point
