I did run a little benchmark earlier today without seeing
this thread. I had been suffering from Reiser3 for quite
some time and switched to Reiser4 yesterday. Reiser4 was
really nice in that it made my disk really silent. It is
possible that it was a bit slower though.

That's why I ran this benchmark using Bonnie++, the results
might only be relevant for my computer, but I think I'll
post them anyway :)

The benchmark shows that Reiser3 is horrible, as I already
knew, that Reiser4 creates and deletes files faster than God
Himself, but generally sucks. ext2 and ext3 are fast for me
however. This doesn't mean that an average computer will not
perform better with Reiser4 as my computer might not like
the overhead.
