Hi Grant, please have a look into your Courier-IMAP files. Did you set it up to listen to the external interface (eth*) or just to the local loop? Make your IMAP server to listen to eth* on port 143 (unsecured IMAP) and try to telnet it; login manually. If that works, there's something wrong with Sylpheed or your local firewall settings (forbidding ports 143 and 993). Of course, you should change your passwords on the server after sending them unencrypted via the Net.
