Don't do that.  It doesn't intelligently pick and choose which bits of code
to merge into your /etc files.  Oh no.  Two words:  CLOBBER.  Your finely
tuned /etc files vanish... replaced by the tarball default configuration
file.

Using automerge with etc-update, I have even clobbered the fstab file... and
I almost made the system unusable.

When you use etc-update, always inspect the changes it wants to make.  Often
times you'll find that you don't want the update at all.
