I am burning dvds with k3b and 2.6 for some time now: cdrecord MUST NOT be suid root. k3b wants to set this bit, but with later 2.6 kernels, this will block cdrecord. Just remove the bit, and you can burn happily as user without needing ide-scsi or other hacks. That is the fix, just correct cdrecords rights. With one exception: if I eject a dvd with eject, I can not burn any other dvd or cd, because 'operation media removal prevention not allowed' or so.. -- [email protected] mailing list
