Yes, give yourself plenty of time, very quiet time. I started my install Friday and after two failed attempts I had kde up by Monday evening. That was on a 2.4Ghz P4 with 750 Broad Band connection. It will take longer on an 800 AMD. In chapter 6 of the install manual be carefull with the optional emerge sync, it totally trashed my make.conf on three occasions. If you do go with it check make.conf before you proceed to the next sage. Best advice I could give would be to copy the Doc folder fromthe install CD to another PC so you can follow it step by step without having to switch terminals. I've been a SuSE fan for a few years and Gentoo came as a bit of a culture shock, a very enjoyable one though. Good luck. -- Tony. Gentoo Linux.
