Hmm, ok that worked (after I deleted another version of file...guess that does matter!) but produced the following ouput & error:

There doesn't seem to be any reference to a "gemini" file on the package list...I guess hence the error?  Can I skip this part of the digest build?

you have to give the full apth to the ebuild

ebuild /usr/local/portage/x11-base/xorg-unichrome/xorg-unichrome-6.8.0-r27.ebuild digest

(thats all one line)
