Hello,
I'm trying to set up a binary portage server for use
with `emerge -g`. It's set up, but I think there is
either a problem with my binary packages (created using
`qpkg -I -nc | & xargs -n 1 -r quickpkg` on the binary
server machine), or with my portage trees. I keep
getting this:
[11:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:[/home/jesse]# emerge -g --update --deep world
Fetching binary packages info...
Loaded metadata pickle.
cache miss: 'x' --- cache hit: 'o'
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy ">=dev-libs/fftw-3.0.1".
!!! Problem with ebuild media-sound/audacity-1.2.1
!!! Possibly a DEPEND/*DEPEND problem.
!!! Depgraph creation failed.
Exit 1

However, if I don't include the -g flag then everything
works just fine. Here is my portage version:
* sys-apps/portage
Latest version available: 2.0.51-r3
Latest version installed: 2.0.51-r3

Description: The Portage Package Management System (Similar to BSD's
ports). The primary package management and distribution system for Gentoo.
License: GPL-2
The binary server is running the exact same portage tree
as the client machine. I set the binary server up as a
rsync portage server, then changed PORTAGE_BINHOST to
point to the binary server in my client's make.conf, then
sync'd them using `emerge sync` from the client.
It's not much use to have a binary server when none of
your binary packages can be installed! Any ideas?
Thanks!
