As far as I know, there is nothing you can do about that. You mention that one of the messages you see is "Loading initrd".... well, the initrd has the bootsplash and framebuffer images in it. So the images can't appear before the initrd itself is loaded, and the kernel is going to put that message on your screen (that the initrd is loading), and so that is going to be regular text (because the framebuffer isn't loaded either).This is not what I mean... I'll explain by steps
1... GRUB loads and shows a list of available installed OS 2... I select Gentoo Linux OS and then before framebuffer background
appears it shows a list of messages (IN TEXT MODE) like :
Loading Initrd... loading Kernel, etc
3... Then finally framebuffer background appears
Now the step 2 is my problem
If you're using gensplash, you might look into upgrading it if there is a newer version, because the earlier versions garnered a lot of complaints that it loaded waaay too slow, and later versions do load faster.
Corrections happily accepted, but I think that's the deal.
