...or, even better, change BOOTSPLASH_STOP_ON_ERROR="no" to BOOTSPLASH_STOP_ON_ERROR="yes" in /etc/conf.d/bootsplash, and if any startup script returns an error ( [!!] ), bootsplash will switch from silent to verbose mode automagically...
