Does anyone have experience with installation of Gentoo onto Cobalt RAQ? I've just acquired a RAQ3, am upgrading the CPU to a K6-2 550mhz and installing 512mb RAM plus 2 * 200GB IDE disks for a small fileserver. Would be interested to hear people's experiences installing, and since I'm a bit of a kernel newb I'd be very interested in a correctly patched and working linux kernel for a Cobalt RAQ3 as I'd like to get it into usage as soon as humanly possible!
Id be very interested in your experiences.
I have a RaQ, RaQ3 and a RaQ4 which Id love to get going with Gentoo. How did you get two disks going? Mine all have single disks. Also, is it possible to boot off CD or is it strictly netboot only?
Very quickly as I'm still playing with an OS, you can get two disks working by replacing the IDE cable with a dual headed one and putting in a power splitter. The actual onboard support supports two, just they only have one power cable and a single head IDE cable supplied.
Netboot only as far as I'm aware.
