I found the cause. ;) mybe someone is experiencing the same sort of problem.
With vga=791 in grub.conf, if the "scrrensaver enter or the monitor
enters in standby, i'm not shure how to define" and you hit anykey to
exit that mode and see what's happening the compilation is freazing,
not only with gnome. I have no ideea if this happens from any other
reason, a wrong config in my computer, but this is the pattern, tested
for about 5 times ;)..... now i removed vga=791, i'm 640/480 and it's
compiling with no problem,even when "screensaver" enters and exits....
