I don't think that's right. Afaik, nvidia does not do any motherboard
chips for intel chips (your p4). Check your kernel .config file:
'grep -i agp /usr/src/linux/.config'

If you have intel chipset on your motherboard this should say:
"CONFIG_AGP_INTEL=m" (without the ""). I have mine builtin (it says "y")
because I will always be using it (I'm always using X).
