So which GF4 and which tnt2? I ask as I've seen certain Nvidia cards not work at all, pre-6xxx drivers because the Mfg. had some specific bios loaded on the card. And, from reading some of the various posts, seems to to indicate that there are race conditions induced in certain cards - slower ones, or those with a bios that has had previous, known problems. fwiw - both my GF3 and my 5950XT work fine with the new driver. It would probably be pretty useful if there was a checklist of things to try out - reducing the AGP settings, reducing resolutions, etc., along with some increased ability of - lshw, uhinv, etc. to actually read the bios version of the Gfx card. But Gfx card vendors seem to hate letting end users know anything useful about their Gfx cards and consider the bios version almost a secret. Bob -- - -- [email protected] mailing list
