Hi all :-)
I have done some digging around on this one but am not getting anywhere. I am trying to get xcdroast working for user 'dave' (me !)
bash-2.05b# uname -a
Linux dave_comp 2.6.10-gentoo-r4 #1 Tue Jan 11 17:49:56 GMT 2005 i686 Pentium III (Coppermine) GenuineIntel GNU/Linux
xcdroast works fine for root.
I have checked cdrecord ... ls -al /usr/bin/cdrecord -rwx--x--x 1 root root 342628 Oct 17 15:35 /usr/bin/cdrecord
xcdroast works but when I try to record I get ... Cannot allocate memory. Cannot get SCSI I/O buffer
I have 'visudo' d & have the entry ... dave dave_comp=/usr/bin/xcdroast
if I ... bash-2.05b$ sudo xcdroast Password:
(xcdroast:10023): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: bash-2.05b$
Which I guess is not unexpected :-) but from what I have read with the new kernels this is apparently the way to go due to added security in the kernel.
Can anyone point me in the right direction
Cheers Dave
