I have lots of kernel upgrades, it used to cause problems since 2.6.7 or so, but chaning what program was used (cdrecord or cdrdao) for each operation worked, now, nothing works. BTW, I complete re-installation went thru in the middle. > Is your CD Burner known to have issues with Linux? Not that I know. I had to repair a fan inside the computer, and since this one of those very small computers, I had to even remove the motherboard to take out the power suply, when I assembled back everything together, at first boot, I've got a message (from the BIOS) that the CD-ROM was not ATAPI compliant. I thought something was bad with the wires, so, I opened it again, pressed the wires a bit and it booted. But from Linux it seems it recognizing the CD-ROM as an HD instead of as a CD-ROM.
