You can get a free personal certificate here http://www.thawte.com/
If you look you'll see all my posts are MIME signed.
You can also get a Verisign certificate but they last 3 months and cost after that I think.
Or you could just make yourself a certificate (self-signed) with openssl, i use such.
i have both Open-PGP & S/MINE for sighning/encrypting. Sign this with my S/MIME-certiticate.
PS:another option is to register with www.cacert.org for a free certs.
