You can do more than that. Someone on this list sometime ago mentioned emerde (http://emerde.freaknet.org/); with it you will be able to use portage with nearly any other distro. "Emerde is the port of Gentoo's portage system that installs, removes, updates, maintains your system rapidly and easily.
