As another fella mentioned, setting up a server will likely violate the
terms of use for your ISP. While it's uncool for them to block ports, it's
also uncool to cheat.
My recommendation is to switch ISP's. When I encountered this problem
recently, I found basically 3 that cater to geeks like us:
Speakeasy (www.speakeasy.net) -- Very cool ISP
Earthlink (www.earthlink.net) -- Get a 'gamers' package
Covad (www.covad.com)
If our service has a dynamic IP address, then use a service like dyndns.org
(free). Still, check the terms of use.
Generally, if the ISP gives you a static IP, then it's OK for you to run a
server.
