If you need to lock your screen, it might be confusing that the button
is there but refuses to work. On the other hand both of you know what
you need to make it work. In my opinion xscreensaver is breaking a fly
on the wheel for that matter. A simple black screen, built into XFCE or
Gnome, would be enough for a start. I agree that a USE flag for
xscreensaver would be nice, but please don't try to convince the devs to
make it a default dependency. :)
