In my (latest) gentoo box with kernel 2.6.10I have the following CDROMS as indicated in /var/log/messages: ..................................... -- Probing IDE interface ide1... -- hdc: Compaq DVD-ROM DVD-113 0114, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive -- hdd: RAPTOR RED, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive -- ide1 at 0x170-0x177,0x376 on irq 15 ............................... -- hdc: ATAPI DVD-ROM drive, 512kB Cache, UDMA(33) -- Uniform CD-ROM driver Revision: 3.20 -- hdd: ATAPI 32X CD-ROM CD-R/RW drive, 2976kB Cache, UDMA(33) -- EISA: Probing bus 0 at eisa0 ...................................
But when I "mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdroms/cdrom0 /mnt/cdrom" gentoo complains that it cannot find /dev/cdroms/cdrom0. And as a matter of fact it doesn't exist. What should I check and do? Vittorio -- [email protected] mailing list
