I use it with php-cgi. Works well for simple stuff.

Haven't done much else. In fact, all I have done is run the front-end to "Cheap Bogofilter Frontend" (http://www.schumann.cx/bogo-fe/) using monkeyd. I can't remember how I run it (my server is offline for RAID reconfiguration), but I guess I probably used daemontools, which are in portage.
How simple? Well if you step through the monkey.conf, there's not that many difficult choices, are there?
