Maybe some smart guy can build an example of how to build an ebuild for us regular folks.....you now not a manual for those who know what they are doing, but, more of a cookbook, where you just substitute in the details of the (simple) software you are trying to package into an ebuild. Once folks do 3 or 4 of those, then they'd be much more inclined to take on a more difficult ebuild. Like JFFNMS. JFFNMS is a killer package for network monitoring & management. The lead guy, Javier, even uses Gentoo to develop JFFNMS as his platform of choice. However, the project lists building an ebuild, for well over a year now, in the TODO category....soliciting folks to create the ebuild. I'd love to package up packages into ebuilds, but, alas, I'm a little bit of an under_acheiver and need a mentor for guidance.
