I've spent the past couple of days installing Gentoo
on my server box. I've gotten to the end of the
handbook and rebooted the system. It boots up part
way and then gives me a message:

Busybox v1.00-pr7 (2005.02.26-01:25+0000) Built-in
shell (ash)

Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands

/bin/sh: can't access tty: job control turned off
attempt to access beyond end of device

It has some other lines below those that I can send if
necessary. I've never seen this error before. It
gives me a / prompt and I can run ls but the listing
does not show what I should be seeing in the root
directory. Did I do something wrong, and if so, how
do I fix it?
