I have a very strange problem. I have an old dvdrom drive. I have a collection of divx movies, and like to put them on the hd to make sure that the cheapo disks I have have not corrupted, ensuring I get to see the whole movie. All of a sudden, all of my disks look like they are corrupted - they all get an input/output error. But what is truly strange is that they all transfer the exact number of bytes before stuffing out. There is plenty of space left on the disk, so that is not the problem...

All these disks are actually OK, seeing as I can get them to an hd on another machine.
Anyone have any ideas about what is going on?
Cheers
Antoine
