You could do something like this:
# ebuild "xxxx.ebuild" compile install qmergeProbably it does a ./configure again, but even so, afterwards it continues almost exactly where the emerge-process stopped.
Maybe you get some problems with dependencies, but dealing with an emerge of a single package this should work.
