Hi,
I did this conversion of my wife's FC2 machine to Gentoo. the
conversion went well (mostly) although I'm now into the process of
making the user experience what she wants.

The first issue I need to deal with is the differences in what's
percieved to be a lack in Gentoo to her as a user. Under FC2 I had
installed both KDE and Gnome. She used Gnome as her desktop but the
menus had all the KDE apps. she liked this as the KDE games were more
extensive and to her liking.

Under Gentoo Ihave emerged both Gnome and KDE. Gnome has pretty
much the same apps and the menus reflect these apps, but Gnome doesn't
show any of the KDE apps. Most interesting when I go into KDE under my
user account on ths system I am not getting any KDE apps at all in the
menus? What's up with that?

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a straight forward way to test the
machien for KDE apps that are installed and then to build Gnome menu
entries (with the appropriate icons) for all these apps? It would be a
long and frustrating task to attempt to do all of that by hand.

Or is there some issue here since I didn't get much of anything in
the KDE menus themselves?

Thanks in advance for your ideas.

Cheers,
Mark
