It should be safe. As you say, most of it can be replaced with emerge sync, you effectively have a backup on every Gentoo mirror. The only parts not covered are the packages and distfiles directories, but these can also be recreated. I'd leave them in the most recent backup, but remove them fro the older ones if you need the space. -- Neil Bothwick Evolution stops when stupidity is no longer fatal!
