Sources are in /usr/portage/distfiles, just copy them to that directory on your laptop. In order to sync portage, you have to download a snapshot (from http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/gentoo/snapshots/ , for example) and untar it to /usr/portage.
