Also, can I install 2005.0 using the Knoppix CD? I think Knoppix supports LVM2... right?
Yeah, you sure can. it's actually fairly easy, and the documentation is on the gentoo.org website. I just did a Knoppix installation a few weeks ago because the 2005.0 CD stuff wouldn't see my (not so old, but whatever..) "MegaRAID Enterprise 1500" RAID controller.
