Thanks Ciaran. It's actually the first problem I've had with reiser4 since I started using it a few months ago - much more reliable than that NTFS most of the rest of the world uses - when I was using windows NTFS crapped up on me several times a week. That said, I don't want to lose data again, so I will probably fall back to something less flashy before too long.
