I have only 5-minutes experience with gentoo live CD (trying to install new system), but have to say I probably met the same problem as u - missing kernel driver (in my case for raid controller). There is a possibility, to prepare and add it to the kernel, but I took much easier (and fastest) way using Knoppix CD (there is a big chance, your scsi tape is supported too). noro -- [email protected] mailing list
