Hello everybody,

I recently switched from Gentoo to Slackware mainly because my computer
is kind of slow :) Anyway, there was one thing that worked in Gentoo
right out of the box and I can't get it to work in Slackware. Of course,
it's not about Slackware itself, but because of my configuration.

Anyway, the problem is that when I enable devfs, both mount and df
show these long devfs names instead of the usual /dev/hda, /dev/sda1, etc.
How is it done in Gentoo that both mount and df show old style device names
while having devfs enabled?

Also, although I have the UNREGISTER .* RMOLDCOMAT line in my devfs
config, the old device names are not removed when the device is
unplugged (say my usb flash drive). Does anybody know of a reason for
this one?

I would be grateful for any suggestions on these "problems".

Thanks,
Sergei
