Ah, *now* I understand.  This has nothing to do with software raid or
mdadm.  Viewing the partition tables is also going to be completely useless.

Does dmraid do anything when you run it...is there any output? 

What does "dmsetup ls" show?

Did it create /dev/sil_* instead??
