Skype isn't awesome. They did it right in terms of usability. But do not forget that they are abusing you, the user, to penetrate the market with their proprietary protocol- As soon as this happened, it is likely that the Linux version disappears.
So, if you like your freedom, search for free alternatives,
and if there are none, help building them. There already are
alternatives like linphone, SFLphone or KPhone.
