Hi, I have the same problem. My best guess is that we don�t have a java compiler installed, just the runtime for Java. Should probably install the java compiler from Sun/IBM/wherever, but I haven�t had time to look in to it in any depth. If you don�t need java support in db tryp 'USE="-java" emerge -Nvp db'.
