Try replacing the icons in /usr/lib/MozillaFirefox/icons with the ones that come with the official build. There's also a few files inside /usr/lib/MozillaFirefox/chrome/browser.jar that deal with the about page and box, so replacing them would put those back to how they should be. You could probably do it by putting the files into ~/.mozilla/firefox/* but I'm not sure if there's any extra steps needed.
