I think this is not the right place for questions like this one. Of course this is a large group of skilled people, so maybe somenone has experienced the same thing with a PVR device. Or someone knows enough about the PCI specs to help you out. But to get in touch with kernel hackers, I'd suggest you ask this on the LKML.
