Did you get the mouse working under M$ on this computer or a different one? If you have never gotten it to work on this computer, you might try switching the mouse and keyboard anyway... regardless of what the little labels say.

I had a motherboard once where the bios was programmed wrong. I couldn't get my keyboard to work at all. It would come on at boot, and then it would stop working. Or something like that. I remember it was very mysterious. It turned out they had gotten the keyboard and mouse ports mixed up in the bios. I switched the mouse and keyboard so that they were each in the _wrong_ jack and then they both worked fine. I think they fixed the problem in a bios update by making it not matter which jack you used for what.
