The filtering for this mailing list is done entirely on the email address in the From: header, and IP address is ignored. However, I do get connection refusals from some other SMTP servers. Since I am a cheapskate, I simply re-route such messages through my ISP's SMTP server; it adds up to an hour to the turn-around time, but it is free.
