Nothing at all. Bog-standard IDE disk and ATA CD-ROM in a Compaq Evo P4 box. I think the box predates AHCI, though it may be worth a try. Yes, me too. I have one box on which I had to switch AHCI off in the BIOS to enable the installation CD to boot, then back on again to boot the installed system. -- Rgds Peter.
