I hope you are right. If it is missing modules, what do I need to do to fix it? I did a emerge -e nvidia-drivers and everything built fine.

Can you locate libdri.so, libdri2.so and libglx.so on your file system? On
my ATI system they're in /usr/lib64/opengl/xorg-x11/
extensions/ so to let xorg know where to look;
