You're missing some important information here. Here's mine: CONFIG_PCCARD=y # CONFIG_PCMCIA_DEBUG is not set CONFIG_PCMCIA=y # CONFIG_PCMCIA_LOAD_CIS is not set # CONFIG_PCMCIA_IOCTL is not set CONFIG_CARDBUS=y CONFIG_YENTA=y # CONFIG_PD6729 is not set # CONFIG_I82092 is not set # CONFIG_TCIC is not set CONFIG_PCCARD_NONSTATIC=y CONFIG_CARDBUS enables support for 32-bit cards (which you probably want) and you'll also need to enable at least one driver.
