Yes. But a separate /boot partition is small, it is seldomly being written to, it is often unmounted anyway, and a fsck is very fast on such a small partition. So there is not much benefit of having a journal. On the contrary, the journal takes some space that is wasted. So I would just use ext2. But if you have the space, ext4 is fine. Wonko
