There have been some changes to something and some people are letting --depclean or friends remove less. It's a long story and there are other threads about it. Just check and see if less is installed and if it is not, emerge it and make sure it is added to the world file. >
In my case, since I'm now using vimpager, I just make a symlink to it: ln -s $(which vimpager) /usr/local/bin/less ... then I purposefully unmerged less :-) Rgds,
