What exactly are you trying to do? As per the filesystem hierarchy standard [1], you should not clear out /var/tmp on reboots. Other directories you /might/ clear out: /var/run /var/lock [1] http://www.pathname.com/fhs/pub/fhs-2.3.html Regards, Florian Philipp
