My bloated fully-larded normal config version of the patched 3.7.1 kernel also works. dmesg logs match with the usual differences in USB assignments and a few messages which changed wording. The patch author says the patch is just waiting for the maintainers to approve it up the line. I do not know if that means it will be in 3.7.2.
