Hi Mark,
I didn't realize you had answered my email until I
looked into the archive. Don't know the protocol for
answering an email once it's been deleted.
Re-running alsamixer after rm asound.state and then
alsactl store did the trick.
Don't know why sound should fail for *all* players
when streaming audio over realplayer after ~ 1/2 hr --
might have something to do with my string-and-can
connection to the Web :(
