My ifpugd.actions looks the same.

I have PCSPKR built in my kernel:

$ grep -i pcspkr /usr/src/linux/.config
CONFIG_HAVE_PCSPKR_PLATFORM=y
CONFIG_PCSPKR_PLATFORM=y
CONFIG_INPUT_PCSPKR=y

I can't recall ever having heard a beep when the cable is disconnected.  :-/
