The gentoo devs are great, but the ArchLinux devs produce an amazing ISO - it supports 32 and 64-bit as well as both non-EFI and EFI boot. Then it's just a simple 'dd if=path/to/archlinux.iso of=/dev/sdX && sync'. I've used the archlinux iso to install Gentoo since forever purely for this reason.
